General
All Cambrian Slates must be twice nailed and clipped using proprietary stainless steel tile clips and nails.
For all other slates, the use of nails or tile clips will be determined by obtaining a FixMaster specification.
Nailing
Proprietary stainless steel tile clips must be used with all Cambrian Slates. The slates must also be fixed with 30 x 2.65 mm stainless steel ring shanked nails.
If Richmond, Saxon, Landmark Slate, Rathlin (IE only) and Valentia Slates (IE only) must be nailed, use 50 x 3 mm aluminium alloy nails.
If Mini Stonewold Slates must be nailed, use 50 x 3.35 mm aluminium alloy nails.
Tile Clips
Proprietary stainless steel tile clips must be used with all Cambrian Slates and fixed with the 30 x 2.65 mm stainless steel ring shanked nails provided.
If Mini Stonewold, Richmond, Saxon, Landmark Slate, Rathlin (IE only) and Valentia Slates (IE only) must be clipped, use proprietary aluminium alloy clips fixed with 60 x 3.35 mm aluminium alloy nails.
If Stonewold II Slates must be clipped, use proprietary clip/nail fixing.
Eaves Clips
Proprietary stainless steel eaves clips must be used with Cambrian Slates on every slate in the eaves course fixed with 55 x 2.65 mm stainless steel ring shanked nails.
If Mini Stonewold, Stonewold II, Richmond, Saxon, Landmark Slate, Rathlin (IE only) and Valentia Slates (IE only) must be clipped at the eaves, use proprietary aluminium alloy clips fixed with 50 x 3 mm aluminium alloy nails.
Verge Clips
Verge clips must be used with Cambrian Slates on every course at verges and both sides of valleys and roof windows.
If Mini Stonewold, Stonewold II, Richmond, Saxon, Landmark Slate, Rathlin (IE only) and Valentia Slates (IE only) must be clipped at the verge or either side of roof windows, use proprietary stainless steel clips fixed with 25 x 2.65 mm galvanised clout nails.
