TILES FIXED IN A CLICK WITH INNOFIX

Redland’s revolutionary new tool-free tile clip, Innofix, has been tried and tested on a 300 unit development in Lincolnshire and on the first phase of an exciting new development located just outside the historic city of Exeter.

Both developments are a mix of two, three and four bed homes featuring either Redland’s double pantile Grovebury or classic 50 Double Roman interlocking concrete tiles.

Several of the on-site roofers took part in Redland’s product trials which saw the new Innofix Clip being used on specific areas of roofing. Previously the roofers had been using the traditional method of nailing the tiles to the battens. The roofers were keen to see if the new product would make a positive difference to the speed at which they could complete the job.

After a few tries one roofer commented that he was surprised at how easy the Innofix Clips are to use and it wasn’t long before the team were picking up the pace and completing the job in significantly less time than was anticipated.

The other roofers were also full of positive feedback for the clip. One mentioned about currently having a belt pocket full of nails with another filled with clips and needing three hands to get the job done: one for the nail, one for the clip and another for the hammer. He was impressed with the Innofix Clip as he didn’t need the hammer or nails and instead only required the easy to hold paper magazine that the clips come in to prevent them from tangling.

One particular attribute of the clip that was universally appreciated by the testers is the click noise made to confirm engagement over the battens to signal that the tile is fixed in place. One said: “The click sound is reassuring, I know for definite that the tiles I laid are fixed properly.”

None of the roofers experienced any problems when it came to fitting with underlay and they found there to be enough give in the clip to enable it to fit around the battens at the rafters.
