REDLAND SUPPORTS NEW NHBC FIXINGS STANDARD
Redland has welcomed guidance issued by the NHBC in November relating to the fixing method for roof tiles.
Monday 28, November 2011
The guidance makes clear that mechanical fixing is required for all ridge and hip tiles and is issued as a result of the large number of claims being made against NHBC Warranties relating to problems with mortar used on pitched roofs.
Redland views this announcement as another step towards the wholesale adoption of dry fix systems for all new roofs – an installation method that the company recommends as best practice.
Redland has offered dry fix systems through its SpecMaster system for roof specification and, in 2011, launched Rapid+ a range of lower-price components that makes dry fix systems available to all independent roofing contractors via merchants.
