Course Overview
CPD TC3 Design and application of leadwork delivered by LSA.
This module is delivered for us by the Lead Sheet Association Training Academy and is chargeable, by them, at £98 plus VAT. Delegates carry out lead welding, dressing, bossing etc.
Purpose
To provide guidance on site inspections and the correct design applications of lead, particularly flashings and to provide a forum for debate with the Lead Training Academy. This contact has proved very useful for the resolution of technical queries.

Dress Code and Safety
Delegates should wear confortable working clothes and their own safety boots. Safety boots are available for loan for the duration of the course.
Content
Conference Room:
- Manufacturing processes and supply of lead sheet
- Review of main causes of failure in leadwork:
- Oversizing
- Overfixing
- Failure of fixings
- Run off from lichen covered surfaces
- Building into masonry
- Condensation
- Staining
- Good methods of detailing and fixing lead sheet at:
- Abutments
- Valleys
- Chimneys
- Pointing and damp proof courses
- Identifying errors with flashings
Workshop:
- Working lead sheet, bossing, lead welding
